Our Story

The concept for Sweet & Salty Queens began in 2020 in our Astoria, Queens apartment.  For the first two years we operated as a home-processor and provided our pastries at local pop-ups, coffee shops in Brooklyn and Queens, online for delivery, and at outdoor markets across NYC. In March 2022 we made the decision to relocate ourselves and our small business to Peekskill. We currently operate out of the RYZE Collective located in Peekskill's Hat Factory.  You can find our products year round at Peekskill Coffee in northwestern Westchester, at local pop-ups and  farmers markets.    As a small business our mission is to provide a space for those that are health-conscious  and  to individuals who may have food allergies that are seeking delicious options, by offering quality and affordable  gluten free and vegan baked goods made with local ingredients.  Our long-term goal is to be a community-based resource by offering opportunities such as skills-based training and open employment.

Terri Dreisbach and Leah Guarino met in October 2018 and connected instantly over their love of food. Terri has been a pastry chef for over two decades and specializes in creating unique sweet and savory flavors using ingredients that are typically not always seen in desserts. Terri has worked in top restaurants in New York City and San Francisco. Leah works in education. To put herself through school she spent more than 10 years working in the food industry in NYC and Detroit.
